I have been working in care for nearly 30 years. 15 years ago, I decided that I didn’t want to work for someone else, and I wanted to become my own boss, ensuring my clients received the best care possible. After a couple of years, Forget Me Not Home Services Ltd was started, back in 2008. Since then, I have enjoyed watching my company grow over the years into the thriving care company it is today. Over the past year, I have decided to take a little step back and employ a manager to take over the daily running of the company, so I can enjoy more time with my family.
For me, care has always been about getting to know the clients and listening to their wealth of knowledge and experiences. It’s about going the extra mile to really get to know the clients and ensuring they are happy and comfortable within their own homes, as much as possible.
My areas of expertise are mental health and dementia. I have always had a keen interest in this side of care, so I focused my training in these areas.
I have always tried to make the ‘Forget Me Not’ experience the best I can for both my staff and our clients, putting them at the heart of everything I do.
Over the next five years, I hope to support my manager to develop Forget Me Not into the best it can possibly be.
